The Julian Casablancas Solo Album

Is anyone excited?  I am!  He’s gone L.A. on us.  Judging from the two songs I’ve heard so far (they’ll play on his Blade Runner-looking homepage if you go there), there’s a touch of 808s and Heartbreak happening on the new album—and, you know, The Strokes kind of invented the Glow in the Dark Tour with the 12:51 video anyway.  After I watch the Yankees win the World Series, I’m going to download the album.  [P.S. I always found The Strokes to be really reassuring in the months after 9/11.  My friends and I listened to them all the time then, our senior year of high school, and it made N.Y.C. feel like the good old days.]  To Julian Casablancas, Bloomberg Term III, Yankees Baseball, and freaking out (i.e., anxiety) in Nueva York.   Shit is crazy.

  7. Jordan says:

Maybe. I’ve learned not to bet against the Yankees. All the same, and even with the heart of the order coming up, I think it’ll go back to New York.

  8. Jordan says:

A prediction I made — tentatively — with two already down.

  9. Well, I’m looking forward to game 6.
