Down the Memory Hole
Unless you live in China, “censorship” is mostly a hysterical trope on the internet, & if you delete a post or a comment, or ban an obnoxious fool from posting on your blog, you will find yourself accused of it (ask the folks at Harriet). But having deleted my post on the environmental degradation caused by factory farming & commercial fishing, I probably owe readers (all three of them) an explanation (not that I expect it will satisfy everyone). I did so because the comments stream had degenerated into an especially unproductive state of rancor which had nothing to do with &, most important, entirely distracted readers from the environmental degradation caused by factory farming & commercial fishing. I acknowledge my own rancorous part, & there’s an end to it. I don’t want this post to turn into a repetition or continuation of the erstwhile comments stream. Here are the links my original post provided, & I hope the good readers of Digital Emunction will follow them & read the articles.

There’s no reason we can’t still hug and coo when we meet, Michael.
Michael,
Well, I thought it was one of the more entertaining discussions I’ve been in.
Don’t worry about it (though don’t do it again).
As Michael H. says above, no hard feelings.
Let’s go hunting!

Seriously, though. Here’s the link to an organization I was quite active with a few years back, around a campaign (unsuccessful, I fear) to stop a factory hog farm in our area. I plan to get involved again, and all you DE readers from Illinois should, too. It’s the main citizen organization for opposition to factory farming in the state.

I thought my joke about William Burroughs was quite funny.
If I coo, is there not a risk that Kent will mistake me for a bird & shoot me?
Thanks for that link, Kent, &, Anahid, I’m sorry to have lost yr joke! It was hilarious (you had to be there).
Michael, I’ve known birds. And you, sir, are no bird.
So don’t worry!
